| 9 | 10 | | Church, the church was organized in 1925 by the Reverend James Henry |

| 10 | 11 | | Monroe Boyce; it has since benefited from the dedicated efforts of a |

| 11 | 12 | | number of outstanding clergymen, including the Reverends David |

| 12 | 13 | | Shipley, Edward Triem, and J. D. Intsiful Jr., and interim pastors |

| 13 | 14 | | David Northcutt and Dr. Charles Teykl; in 2013, the Reverend Jon |

| 14 | 15 | | C. Guyton was appointed pastor at Pinecrest, his lifelong church |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, United by their shared faith and strong traditions, |

| 18 | 19 | | variety of commendable programs that foster fellowship and offer |

| 19 | 20 | | help to those in need; those initiatives include the Leavesley |

|---|
| 21 | 22 | | resettlement, weekly senior meals, and a well-baby clinic; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Countless Houston residents have looked to |

| 23 | 24 | | Pinecrest Presbyterian for spiritual guidance over the years, and |

| 24 | 25 | | it is a pleasure to join in honoring the church at this special time |

| 25 | 26 | | in its rich history; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 90th anniversary of Pinecrest |
