45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Donna and Dan Mittel of Fredericksburg are
67 celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of their business,
78 the Gästehaus Schmidt reservation service; and
89 WHEREAS, Gästehaus Schmidt, which means "Schmidt's Guest
910 House" in German, was founded in 1985 by Loretta Schmidt and
1011 purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Mittel in 1992; this unique service
1112 allows visitors to book rooms in bed-and-breakfast inns, country
1213 inns, ranches, and other distinctive accommodations in the area;
1314 and
1415 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Mittel personally research all of the
1516 properties, which include 175 units in both rural and town
1617 settings, in and around Fredericksburg, Comfort, Kerrville, and
1718 Hunt; they range from rooms in private homes to rustic cabins to
1819 private guesthouses; and
1920 WHEREAS, For three decades, Gästehaus Schmidt has benefited
2021 the culture and economy of its community by enabling visitors to
2122 find quaint, historic, and luxurious accommodations as they visit
2223 the Texas Hill Country; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of the
2526 Gästehaus Schmidt reservation service and extend to Donna and Dan
2627 Mittel sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2728 further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Mittel as an expression of high regard by
3031 the Texas House of Representatives.
