| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, John Paul Walter of Boy Scouts of America Troop |

| 6 | 7 | | No. 157 in Lubbock has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 9 | 10 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | criteria, Mr. Walter earned the requisite 21 merit badges, and for |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | his Eagle Scout project, he constructed a cedar fence along an |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | alleyway at Lubbock High School, helping to alleviate safety and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | environmental concerns; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A lector and acolyte at St. Paul's Episcopal Church |

| 16 | 17 | | and a senior at Lubbock High School, Mr. Walter is a member of the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | National Honor Society, a senator in the student council, and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | president of the Entrepreneur Club and the Latin Club; he also |

| 19 | 20 | | serves as captain of the baseball team, and he will continue to play |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | the game in the fall of 2015 at New York University, where he plans |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | to study business finance and engineering; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The son of Linda and Paul Walter, this fine young |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout |

| 24 | 25 | | his scouting career, serving as a patrol leader and quartermaster |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | and winning the respect and admiration of the fellow members of his |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | troop as he worked toward the highest rank that the organization |

| 27 | 28 | | offers; and |

| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Walter's dedication to excellence and |

| 29 | 30 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 30 | 31 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 31 | 32 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
