| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The city of Mesquite has greatly benefited from the |

| 6 | 7 | | dedicated leadership of the Honorable John Monaco, who has served |

| 7 | 8 | | as mayor for eight years; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 2007, Mayor Monaco has ably guided |

| 9 | 10 | | the city with an eye to the future, and his knowledge and expertise |

| 10 | 11 | | in a wide range of community issues have earned him the respect of |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | many people along the way; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Monaco has further distinguished himself |

| 13 | 14 | | through his involvement with the Texas Municipal League, which he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | has served as president and as an ex officio member of its |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees, and he has also been |

| 16 | 17 | | active on several local, regional, and state boards and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | commissions; in recognition of his vital contributions to the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | community, he was presented with the 2013 Leadership in Member |

| 19 | 20 | | Enrollment Award by the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |

| 21 | 22 | | life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |

| 22 | 23 | | of John Monaco have helped to make Mesquite an even better place in |

| 23 | 24 | | which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Mayor John Monaco for his exemplary |
