| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A respected businessman, Lonnie B. Grissom Jr. has |

| 6 | 7 | | made significant contributions to the logging industry in Tyler |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Grissom was born and raised in Woodville, and he |

| 9 | 10 | | graduated from Kirby High School in 1979; after serving in Germany |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | for four years with the United States Army, he returned to his |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | hometown and began his career in logging in 1986; he and a partner |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | founded G & W Enterprises, a logging and trucking company, as well |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | as other firms related to the industry; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Grissom subsequently struck out on his own, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | he continued to extend his business into sawmills, chipmills, fuel |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | distribution, and an equipment dealership; over the years, he has |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | worked tirelessly to expand job opportunities in Tyler County by |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | building new operations, and he has partnered with Texas Pellets |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and the East Texas Electric Cooperative to promote the expansion of |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | their companies; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Dynamic and creative entrepreneurs play a vital role |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | in the prosperity of Texas, and through his many endeavors, Lonnie |

| 23 | 24 | | Grissom has helped to make Tyler County an even better place in |

| 24 | 25 | | which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Lonnie B. Grissom Jr. for his |

| 27 | 28 | | accomplishments and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
