 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Brookeland High School boys' golf team made an
 outstanding showing at the 2015 University Interscholastic League
 Class 2A State Tournament on April 29-30 in Austin; and
 WHEREAS, After finishing as the runner-up at the regional
 tournament in Corsicana, the Wildcats moved on to the state
 tournament, matching up against the other top Class 2A teams in
 Texas at Roy Kizer Golf Course; ably guided by coaches Donna Cooper
 and Mike Defee, the Brookeland golfers finished with a two-day
 total score of 664 to finish in third place; and
 WHEREAS, Brodey Warner led the way for Brookeland at state
 with a score of 161, which placed him in 14th place in the
 individual standings, and teammates Joshua Root and Jacob Root
 followed closely by each shooting a 163; the team also benefited
 from the valuable contributions of Stephen McCugh, who carded a
 177; moreover, the 2015 tournament marked the third consecutive
 year these talented student-athletes have competed for the state
 crown; and
 WHEREAS, The members of the Brookeland High School boys' golf
 team have established themselves as one of the strongest squads in
 the Lone Star State, and they may indeed take great pride in their
 many exceptional accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Brookeland High School boys'
 golf team on its third place finish at the 2015 UIL Class 2A State
 Tournament and extend to the team's players and coaches sincere
 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
