 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jane Santa Cruz has ably served her fellow Texans as
 an intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody during the
 84th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Santa Cruz has provided
 vital assistance in handling many challenging tasks, especially
 those related to juvenile and criminal justice policies; in
 addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
 issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained
 valuable experience in the field of public service; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Santa Cruz currently is
 pursuing a master's degree at The University of Texas at Austin
 Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs; after graduation, she
 plans to focus her efforts on closing the achievement gap for
 low-income students; she holds bachelor's degrees in history and
 Spanish from Hendrix College in Arkansas and previously worked with
 the nonprofit organization City Year; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
 duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
 indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Jane Santa Cruz for her service as a
 legislative intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody
 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all
 her endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Santa Cruz as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
