45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Jane Santa Cruz has ably served her fellow Texans as
67 an intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody during the
78 84th Legislative Session; and
89 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Santa Cruz has provided
910 vital assistance in handling many challenging tasks, especially
1011 those related to juvenile and criminal justice policies; in
1112 addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
1213 issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained
1314 valuable experience in the field of public service; and
1415 WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Santa Cruz currently is
1516 pursuing a master's degree at The University of Texas at Austin
1617 Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs; after graduation, she
1718 plans to focus her efforts on closing the achievement gap for
1819 low-income students; she holds bachelor's degrees in history and
1920 Spanish from Hendrix College in Arkansas and previously worked with
2021 the nonprofit organization City Year; and
2122 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
2223 duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
2324 indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
2425 therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby commend Jane Santa Cruz for her service as a
2728 legislative intern in the office of State Representative Joe Moody
2829 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all
2930 her endeavors; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Ms. Santa Cruz as an expression of high regard by the
3233 Texas House of Representatives.
