H.R. No. 3261
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sandy McNutt has deservedly been recognized by the
board of trustees of the Arlington Independent School District with
the naming of a new elementary school in her honor; and
WHEREAS, One of four new schools in the district, Sandy
McNutt Elementary is slated to open in the fall of 2016 on Arbrook
Boulevard in Arlington; and
WHEREAS, Ms. McNutt enjoyed a distinguished career with
Arlington ISD that spanned nearly three decades; she initially
worked as a teacher at Ditto Elementary School and went on to serve
as an assistant principal at Starrett and Moore Elementary Schools
and as principal of Wood Elementary; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed educator made a positive and lasting
difference in the lives of countless students during her tenure at
Arlington ISD, and the naming of a school in her honor is truly a
fitting tribute; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the naming of Sandy McNutt
Elementary School and extend sincere gratitude to Ms. McNutt for
her many years of dedicated service to the Arlington Independent
School District; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. McNutt as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
