| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Sandy McNutt has deservedly been recognized by the |

| 6 | 7 | | board of trustees of the Arlington Independent School District with |

| 7 | 8 | | the naming of a new elementary school in her honor; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, One of four new schools in the district, Sandy |

| 9 | 10 | | McNutt Elementary is slated to open in the fall of 2016 on Arbrook |

| 10 | 11 | | Boulevard in Arlington; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. McNutt enjoyed a distinguished career with |

| 12 | 13 | | Arlington ISD that spanned nearly three decades; she initially |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | worked as a teacher at Ditto Elementary School and went on to serve |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | as an assistant principal at Starrett and Moore Elementary Schools |

| 15 | 16 | | and as principal of Wood Elementary; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed educator made a positive and lasting |

| 17 | 18 | | difference in the lives of countless students during her tenure at |

| 18 | 19 | | Arlington ISD, and the naming of a school in her honor is truly a |

| 19 | 20 | | fitting tribute; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 21 | 22 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the naming of Sandy McNutt |

| 22 | 23 | | Elementary School and extend sincere gratitude to Ms. McNutt for |

| 23 | 24 | | her many years of dedicated service to the Arlington Independent |
