R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cynthia Maldonado is graduating from Pasadena Early
College High School on June 4, 2015; and
WHEREAS, In undertaking the rigorous PECHS curriculum,
Ms. Maldonado has completed an accelerated course of study in which
she has earned both a high school diploma and an associate's degree
of life science from San Jacinto Community College; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Maldonado also participated in a number of
extracurricular activities at PECHS, serving as president of the
Mujeres Latinas Avanzado club and taking an active role as a
performer in school musicals and talent shows; she has been
recognized for her academic achievement by the National Society of
Collegiate Scholars, and she is currently a member of the Phi Theta
Kappa Honor Society; upon graduation, she plans to continue her
education at Texas A&M University, where she will study
biochemistry; and
WHEREAS, During her years at PECHS, this accomplished young
Texan has distinguished herself through her skill and
determination, and the knowledge and confidence she has acquired
along the way will serve her well in the years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Maldonado on her
graduation from Pasadena Early College High School as a member of
the Class of 2015 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Maldonado as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
