8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Teacher of the Year program, run by the |

9 | 10 | | Texas Association of School Administrators, distinguishes faculty |

10 | 11 | | members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to |

11 | 12 | | education; in recognition of her exemplary work as a kindergarten |

12 | 13 | | teacher at Carver Early Childhood Academy, Allison Woodington was |

13 | 14 | | named Elementary Teacher of the Year for Amarillo ISD in May 2014; |

14 | 15 | | she went on to receive the same commendation for Region 16 at the i3 |

16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, During her four years at Carver Academy, |

17 | 18 | | Ms. Woodington prepared her kindergarten students for the rest of |

18 | 19 | | their educational careers through a unique mix of active |

19 | 20 | | engagement, innovative technology, and group work; the children |

20 | 21 | | would solve problems together or teach each other new concepts, |

21 | 22 | | improving their understanding of the content while promoting social |

22 | 23 | | skills; in addition to her classroom duties, Ms. Woodington also |

23 | 24 | | served as the school's administrative assistant, courtesy |

24 | 25 | | committee leader, PR representative, and head of her grade level; |

26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, This Dallas native currently works as a curriculum |

27 | 28 | | assessment specialist at Coronado Elementary School; she has a |

28 | 29 | | master's degree in educational leadership from West Texas A&M |

29 | 30 | | University, and she is affiliated with the Texas Classroom Teachers |

31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through her enthusiasm, personal involvement, and |

32 | 33 | | dedication to her students, Allison Woodington has set a remarkable |

34 | 35 | | and it is a privilege to recognize this noteworthy educator at this |
