| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael Schneider, 315th District |

| 6 | 7 | | Court judge, has been named a recipient of the 2015 President's |

| 7 | 8 | | Award by the Houston Bar Association; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The chair of the association's Juvenile Law Section, |

| 9 | 10 | | Judge Schneider shares the award with the section's program chair, |

| 10 | 11 | | Brian J. Fischer; thanks to their leadership and to the vital |

| 11 | 12 | | assistance of the dedicated board members, the Juvenile Law Section |

| 12 | 13 | | was also recognized as Outstanding Section; it has sponsored two |

| 13 | 14 | | extremely successful two-day conferences attended by juvenile law |

| 14 | 15 | | practitioners from across the state; these intensive educational |

| 15 | 16 | | programs both featured experts who helped participants learn how to |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | better represent their juvenile clients in matters that could have |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | enormous implications for their future; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Judge Schneider has also worked diligently in behalf |

| 19 | 20 | | of the section's charitable endeavors, which include support of the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Harvest Celebration, the Criss Cole Children's Fund, the Harris |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | County Juvenile Courts, and the State Bar of Texas Juvenile Law |

| 22 | 23 | | Section scholarship fund for young parolees; in addition, the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | section made a large donation to the Houston Alumni and Youth Center |

| 24 | 25 | | to purchase necessities for teens aging out of foster care and |

| 25 | 26 | | embarking on independent lives; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill, vision, and commitment to |

| 27 | 28 | | excellence, Judge Schneider has contributed significantly to the |

| 28 | 29 | | effectiveness of the Juvenile Law Section, and in so doing, he has |

| 29 | 30 | | earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues; now, |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
