| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder is retiring from the YMCA of |

| 6 | 7 | | Metropolitan Fort Worth in 2015, drawing to a close a distinguished |

| 7 | 8 | | career in which she has provided outstanding service to that |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | organization and to the young people of Fort Worth; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Snyder first joined the staff of the YMCA 28 |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | years ago, and she has been with the Fort Worth YMCA for nearly a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | quarter century; during her exemplary tenure, she has served as |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | vice president of operations and has played an essential role in the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | organization's efforts; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to her other responsibilities, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Ms. Snyder has devoted 15 years to overseeing Fort Worth Youth and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Government; more than 4,500 individuals have taken part in this |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | youth-led, experiential initiative that is designed to increase |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | their understanding of civic affairs and to help them become |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | responsible citizens; under Ms. Snyder's leadership, the District |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | IV program has fielded 10 Youth Governors and has expanded to |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | include middle school and home school students; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of her achievements, Ms. Snyder |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | received the Bill Theiss Award at the Youth and Government State |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Conference; this prestigious honor is presented to a YMCA staff |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | member who has made important contributions to the program at the |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | local and state levels; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder's conscientiousness, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the mission and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | values of the YMCA have earned her the admiration of her coworkers |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | and the gratitude of countless youth, and she may reflect with pride |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | on a job well done as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her |

| 32 | 33 | | life; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Shelley Snyder on her retirement |
