45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder is retiring from the YMCA of
67 Metropolitan Fort Worth in 2015, drawing to a close a distinguished
78 career in which she has provided outstanding service to that
89 organization and to the young people of Fort Worth; and
910 WHEREAS, Ms. Snyder first joined the staff of the YMCA 28
1011 years ago, and she has been with the Fort Worth YMCA for nearly a
1112 quarter century; during her exemplary tenure, she has served as
1213 vice president of operations and has played an essential role in the
1314 organization's efforts; and
1415 WHEREAS, In addition to her other responsibilities,
1516 Ms. Snyder has devoted 15 years to overseeing Fort Worth Youth and
1617 Government; more than 4,500 individuals have taken part in this
1718 youth-led, experiential initiative that is designed to increase
1819 their understanding of civic affairs and to help them become
1920 responsible citizens; under Ms. Snyder's leadership, the District
2021 IV program has fielded 10 Youth Governors and has expanded to
2122 include middle school and home school students; and
2223 WHEREAS, In recognition of her achievements, Ms. Snyder
2324 received the Bill Theiss Award at the Youth and Government State
2425 Conference; this prestigious honor is presented to a YMCA staff
2526 member who has made important contributions to the program at the
2627 local and state levels; and
2728 WHEREAS, Shelley Snyder's conscientiousness,
2829 professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the mission and
2930 values of the YMCA have earned her the admiration of her coworkers
3031 and the gratitude of countless youth, and she may reflect with pride
3132 on a job well done as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
3233 life; now, therefore, be it
3334 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
3435 Legislature hereby congratulate Shelley Snyder on her retirement
3536 from the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth and extend to her sincere
3637 best wishes for continued happiness and success in all her
3738 endeavors; and, be it further
3839 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3940 prepared for Ms. Snyder as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4041 House of Representatives.
