| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth W. Threlkeld of Tyler is celebrating his |

| 7 | 8 | | milestone presents a fitting opportunity to take note of his |

| 8 | 9 | | outstanding record of success and service to the community; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Threlkeld grew up on a farm near Ladonia, and he |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | joined the U.S. Army in 1955; he went on to earn a bachelor's degree |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | in business under the G.I. Bill from East Texas State College, now |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Texas A&M University--Commerce; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After working as an accountant and auditor for |

| 14 | 15 | | Squyres, Johnson, Squyres in Tyler, Mr. Threlkeld began his career |

| 15 | 16 | | in insurance with a brief stint at State Farm before joining the |

| 16 | 17 | | Clyde & Prestridge Insurance Agency as an agent and accountant; |

| 17 | 18 | | within a year, he bought a half interest in the company, and he |

| 18 | 19 | | owned the agency outright by 1974; after merging with other |

| 19 | 20 | | agencies, he established his own company, Threlkeld & Company |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Today, Threlkeld & Company is one of the largest |

| 22 | 23 | | full-service insurance agencies in East Texas, and Mr. Threlkeld |

| 23 | 24 | | serves as its chief executive officer, while his son, Todd |

| 24 | 25 | | Threlkeld, who joined the agency in 1988, serves as president; a |

| 25 | 26 | | number of TCI employees have been with the company for many years, |

| 26 | 27 | | ensuring reliability and continuity of service for its customers; |

| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Long committed to advancing worthy causes and |

| 29 | 30 | | organizations, Mr. Threlkeld holds 50-year certificates from the |

| 30 | 31 | | Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners; he is the |

| 31 | 32 | | founder and chair of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for East Texas, |

| 32 | 33 | | and he has served as president, chair, and member of the board of |

| 33 | 34 | | the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership program at Texas A&M |

| 34 | 35 | | University, the Texas A&M University--Commerce Foundation, and the |

| 35 | 36 | | American Cancer Society; an ardent patron of the Tyler Cattle |

| 36 | 37 | | Barons' Gala, a fund-raiser for the ACS, he is famous for presenting |

| 38 | 39 | | WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Threlkeld and the staff of his |

| 39 | 40 | | company support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the American |

| 40 | 41 | | Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the Salvation Army's holiday |

| 41 | 42 | | Kettle Drive, and the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon; and |

| 42 | 43 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Threlkeld's many awards include the Build East |

| 43 | 44 | | Texas Award of Excellence from the Texas House of Representatives, |

| 44 | 45 | | the W. E. "Bill" and Mary Clements Outstanding Leadership in |

| 45 | 46 | | Agriculture Memorial Award, and the Cystic Fibrosis Breath of Life |

| 46 | 47 | | Award; in 2015, he was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of |

| 48 | 49 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Threlkeld has proven himself a business and |
