H.R. No. 390 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Mary Jean Moloney of Arlington retired from Atmos Energy on December 31, 2014, drawing to a close a notable career in the natural gas industry that has spanned four decades; and WHEREAS, A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Moloney received her bachelor's degree in family consumer sciences from Wayne State University and went on to earn a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dallas; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Moloney embarked on her career in the energy industry in 1974, when she joined Lone Star Gas as a consumer information specialist in Greenville; after working as a department supervisor in Fort Worth, she moved on to serve as district manager in both Carrollton and Arlington, as a business development manager, and as director of business development; when the company merged with TXU in 1997, she became a district manager and then an area manager, and she is retiring as manager of public affairs for Atmos Energy in Arlington; and WHEREAS, While meeting the many demands of her professional life, Mrs. Moloney has found time to give back to her community through her service on the boards of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, the Arlington Financial Corporation, the City of Arlington Electrical Code Board of Appeals, and the Arlington Board of Realtors Community Service Foundation; in addition, she has been a Richard Greene Scholarship Program mentor and has advised the Junior League of Arlington, The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work Advisory Council, the Arlington Housing Authority, and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Moloney has also given generously of her time and talents to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce, the Northeast Leadership Forum, the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, the March of Dimes, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Fort Worth Consortium Private Industry Council, as well as to the United Way of Tarrant County, Grand Prairie United Charities, and SafeHaven of Tarrant County; she holds the distinction of being the first female member of the Rotary Club of Arlington; and WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, this esteemed Texan enjoys the love and support of her husband of 23 years, Tim Moloney; together, she and her husband have mentored four young people through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program; and WHEREAS, Mary Jean Moloney's consummate professionalism and unswerving commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the natural gas customers of North Texas and earned her the respect and admiration of her peers, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Jean Moloney on her retirement from Atmos Energy and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Moloney as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
