 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
 of Robert "Doyle" Taylor of Winnsboro, who passed away on September
 26, 2014, at the age of 95; and
 WHEREAS, Doyle Taylor was born to Robert Taylor and Maude
 Dodgen on June 25, 1919, in the Pleasant Grove community near
 Winnsboro; he graduated from Winnsboro High School and later earned
 an associate's degree from East Texas State University; answering
 his nation's call to duty, he served as a member of the U.S. Navy
 during World War II; and
 WHEREAS, After his military service, Mr. Taylor returned to
 Winnsboro, where he owned and operated the Taylor Propane Company
 and Taylor True Value Hardware for many years; he retired in 1977
 and sold both businesses, but he continued to manage his
 investments and other business interests until his final days; and
 WHEREAS, This respected businessman also made significant
 contributions to his community, serving as a founding member of the
 Winnsboro Lions Club and as a valued supporter of Winnsboro High
 School athletics and FFA; a man of deep faith, Mr. Taylor was a
 deacon and active congregant at First Baptist Church as well as a
 member of the Mainland Advisory Council of Hawaii Baptist Academy;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor exchanged the vows of matrimony with his
 wife, Bobbie, on August 29, 1940, and the couple enjoyed 72
 rewarding years together until her passing; he delighted in the
 company of his children, Marcus and Kayron, and he later knew the
 joy of welcoming 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a
 great-great-grandson into his cherished family; and
 WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, his faith, and his community,
 Doyle Taylor was an optimistic and outgoing man who delighted in the
 company of others, and the generosity with which he lived his life
 will forever inspire all who had the good fortune to know him; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert "Doyle" Taylor
 and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 children, Marcus Taylor and his wife, Pamela, and Kayron Taylor; to
 his grandchildren, Rob Taylor and his wife, Tiffiny, Chris Irby,
 Sunny Polito and her husband, Nick, Amber Taylor, Zane Taylor and
 his wife, Kim, and Heather Wessels and her husband, Johan; to his
 great-grandchildren, Taylor Blair and his wife, Ashley,
 Christopher, Luke, and Campbell Polito, Faith Flaherty, Noah, Zoe,
 and Maggie Taylor, Grace Wessels, and Tyler and Kodie Pratt; to his
 great-great-grandson, Ayden Blair; and to his other relatives and
 many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
 "Doyle" Taylor.
