 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Pete and Nickie Barnard of Daingerfield celebrated
 their 50th wedding anniversary on December 19, 2014, and they may
 indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have
 shared; and
 WHEREAS, Both graduates of Daingerfield High School, Mr. and
 Mrs. Barnard were joined in matrimony on that memorable day in 1964
 at the home of the bride's mother; through the years, they have been
 blessed with a treasured family that includes their daughter, Dana
 Robertson, and her husband, Harlan, as well as their granddaughter,
 Carson; and
 WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Barnard
 is an army veteran and is retired from a successful career as a tool
 and die maker for Continental Can Company; Mrs. Barnard worked at
 the Johnson Space Center for a time before enjoying a rewarding
 25-year career as an educator with the Pine Tree Independent School
 District in Longview; in their leisure time, Mr. Barnard enjoys
 fishing, golfing, and gardening and Mrs. Barnard takes great
 pleasure in doing genealogy research and spending time with her
 loved ones; and
 WHEREAS, For a half-century, Pete and Nickie Barnard have
 brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
 is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Pete and Nickie Barnard on their
 golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
 for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
