| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed a |

| 6 | 7 | | special occasion, and Ruth Henderson Johnson of Victoria is marking |

| 7 | 8 | | this momentous milestone in her life on March 28, 2015; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Hochheim in 1915 to Frank and Cornelia |

| 9 | 10 | | Henderson, the former Ruth Henderson grew up in Dewitt County with |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | her twin sister, Ruby; on August 24, 1933, she was joined in |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | matrimony to Alvin Johnson in Cuero; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson became the proud mother of four |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | children, Alvin, Henry, Wilma, and Oscar, and she has also played a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | maternal role in the lives of her twin's many offspring; today, she |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | is the treasured matriarch of a fine family that has grown to |

| 16 | 17 | | include 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 21 |

| 17 | 18 | | great-great-grandchildren, a great-great-great-grandchild, and a |

| 18 | 19 | | great-great-great-great-grandchild; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Victoria for more than seven decades, |

| 20 | 21 | | Mrs. Johnson has inspired innumerable people through her kindness |

| 21 | 22 | | and goodwill; she is a longtime congregant of Bethlehem Baptist |

| 22 | 23 | | Church and a member of the Pleasant Green Extension Club; over the |

| 23 | 24 | | years, her favorite hobbies have included quilting and making fig |

| 24 | 25 | | preserves; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Blessed with the affection of a host of loved ones |

| 26 | 27 | | and sustained by her strong faith, Ruth Johnson has gracefully |

| 27 | 28 | | reached the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all |

| 28 | 29 | | who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
