H.R. No. 447 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may temper the profound sadness felt at the death of Donald Joe Clark of Chico on September 25, 2014, at the age of 52; and WHEREAS, Donald Clark was born in Muleshoe on March 21, 1962, to Joe and Jean Clark; he shared three decades of marriage with his wife, Lori, and took great pride in his sons, J. D. and Jesse, as well as his three grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A 1980 graduate of Chico High School, Mr. Clark owned and operated a welding and construction business, but he was best known in the community as the longtime voice of the Chico High Dragons football team; for 21 years, he was a beloved fixture on fall Friday nights, calling the action on the gridiron from the press box he constructed himself; and WHEREAS, Mr. Clark benefited his alma mater in numerous other capacities, including service on the Chico school board; his hobbies included employing his vocal talents as an auctioneer and rodeo announcer, and he was an avid music and NASCAR fan; and WHEREAS, Although Donald Clark is deeply missed, he leaves behind a legacy that will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Joe Clark and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Lori Clark; to his sons, J. D. Clark and Jesse Clark and his wife, Alecia; to his father, Joe Clark, and his wife, Cheryl; to his mother, Jean Greer, and her husband, Gerald; to his sister, Amanda Vargas, and her husband, Jay; to his grandchildren, Natalie, Cain, and Hayes Clark; and to his other family members and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donald Joe Clark.
