6 | 7 | | temper the profound sadness felt at the death of Donald Joe Clark of |

7 | 8 | | Chico on September 25, 2014, at the age of 52; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Donald Clark was born in Muleshoe on March 21, 1962, |

9 | 10 | | to Joe and Jean Clark; he shared three decades of marriage with his |

10 | 11 | | wife, Lori, and took great pride in his sons, J. D. and Jesse, as |
---|
11 | 12 | | well as his three grandchildren; and |
---|
12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A 1980 graduate of Chico High School, Mr. Clark |
---|
13 | 14 | | owned and operated a welding and construction business, but he was |
---|
14 | 15 | | best known in the community as the longtime voice of the Chico High |
---|
15 | 16 | | Dragons football team; for 21 years, he was a beloved fixture on |
---|
16 | 17 | | fall Friday nights, calling the action on the gridiron from the |
---|
17 | 18 | | press box he constructed himself; and |

18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Clark benefited his alma mater in numerous other |
---|
19 | 20 | | capacities, including service on the Chico school board; his |
---|
20 | 21 | | hobbies included employing his vocal talents as an auctioneer and |
---|
21 | 22 | | rodeo announcer, and he was an avid music and NASCAR fan; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Although Donald Clark is deeply missed, he leaves |

23 | 24 | | behind a legacy that will long be treasured by all those who held |

24 | 25 | | him dear; now, therefore, be it |

25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Joe Clark and |

27 | 28 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |

28 | 29 | | Lori Clark; to his sons, J. D. Clark and Jesse Clark and his wife, |

29 | 30 | | Alecia; to his father, Joe Clark, and his wife, Cheryl; to his |
