45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
67 temper the profound sadness felt by the family and friends of
78 Dr. Bruce D. Krutsinger of Houston, who passed away on July 9, 2014,
89 at the age of 56; and
910 WHEREAS, Born in Yuma, Colorado, on November 25, 1957, to Jerry
1011 Dean and Louise Krutsinger, Bruce Krutsinger was raised in western
1112 Nebraska, where he learned the value of discipline and hard work at
1213 an early age; he developed an interest in becoming an optometrist
1314 while in high school, and he went on to earn his undergraduate degree
1415 in 1980 at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln; he subsequently
1516 attended optometry school at the University of Houston and worked as
1617 an optician before graduating in 1984; and
1718 WHEREAS, A diplomate of the American Board of Optometry,
1819 Dr. Krutsinger gave generously of his time and talents in behalf of
1920 several professional organizations; he served as a member of the
2021 Texas Optometric Association Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2011
2122 and as president of the Harris County Optometric Society from 2009
2223 to 2011, in addition to holding the post of HCOS legislative
2324 coordinator for more than two decades, until 2012; Dr. Krutsinger's
2425 soft-spoken, respectful manner belied the determination he brought
2526 to each task and challenge laid before him, and he took special
2627 pleasure in sharing his passion for optometry with everyone from
2728 patients to lawmakers; and
2829 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, this esteemed Texan enjoyed
2930 the love and support of his wife of 27 years, Marsha Krutsinger; the
3031 couple delighted in visiting family in Illinois, Tennessee, and
3132 California and in spending vacation time back in Nebraska; and
3233 WHEREAS, While Dr. Bruce Krutsinger's journey on this earth
3334 ended far too soon, he will always be remembered with great
3435 tenderness and affection by all those who had the good fortune to
3536 know him; now, therefore, be it
3637 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
37- Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Bruce
38- D.
38+ Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Bruce D.
3939 Krutsinger and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
4040 family: to his wife, Marsha Krutsinger; to his mother, Louise
4141 Krutsinger; to his sister, Vicki Dyer, and her husband, Bob; to his
4242 niece and nephew, Katy and Alex Dyer; to his great-niece, Delaney
4343 Dyer; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it

4545 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4646 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4747 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Bruce
4848 Krutsinger.
