45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, George Flint of Plano has been elected chair of the
67 Collin County Republican Party, and as he continues this act of
78 service, it is indeed fitting to recognize him for his many
89 contributions to civic life; and
910 WHEREAS, An attorney and small-business owner, Mr. Flint has
1011 long been active in the GOP, and he has served the Collin County
1112 Republican Party as general counsel since 2009; he has given
1213 generously of his financial resources to support the party and its
1314 candidates, and he has served in such capacities as co-chair of the
1415 Bylaws and Rules Committee for the Collin County Republican Party,
1516 co-chair of the Senate District 8 Resolutions Committee, and
1617 Delegate to the Texas State Republican Convention; in addition, he
1718 was a member of the state party's Convention Rules Committee in
1819 2012, and he was an Alternate Texas Delegate to the Republican
1920 National Convention; and
2021 WHEREAS, Mr. Flint was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and
2122 graduated from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts
2223 Institute of Technology; in 1974, he completed his MBA at Wake
2324 Forest University and relocated to Texas, and he subsequently
2425 earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University; his
2526 practice with the Flint Firm encompasses business and contract law,
2627 mediation, and complex litigation, among other areas of expertise,
2728 and his professional affiliations include the Association of
2829 Attorney-Mediators, the American Health Lawyers Association, the
2930 Christian Legal Society, and the Collin County Bar Association; and
3031 WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Flint is a
3132 member of Christ Church Plano, and he has provided pro bono legal
3233 services to religious institutions and nonprofit organizations; he
3334 serves as director of Real Options for Women and as a volunteer
3435 arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas;
3536 and
3637 WHEREAS, George Flint has set an outstanding example of civic
3738 leadership, and the members of the Collin County Republican Party
3839 are fortunate indeed to have the benefit of his knowledge and
3940 experience; now, therefore, be it
4041 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
4142 Legislature hereby congratulate George Flint on his election as
4243 chair of the Collin County Republican Party and extend to him
4344 sincere best wishes for a successful tenure in office; and, be it
4445 further
4546 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4647 prepared for Mr. Flint as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4748 House of Representatives.
