5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, George Flint of Plano has been elected chair of the |

6 | 7 | | Collin County Republican Party, and as he continues this act of |

7 | 8 | | service, it is indeed fitting to recognize him for his many |
---|
8 | 9 | | contributions to civic life; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, An attorney and small-business owner, Mr. Flint has |
---|
10 | 11 | | long been active in the GOP, and he has served the Collin County |
---|
11 | 12 | | Republican Party as general counsel since 2009; he has given |
---|
12 | 13 | | generously of his financial resources to support the party and its |
---|
13 | 14 | | candidates, and he has served in such capacities as co-chair of the |
---|
14 | 15 | | Bylaws and Rules Committee for the Collin County Republican Party, |
---|
15 | 16 | | co-chair of the Senate District 8 Resolutions Committee, and |
---|
16 | 17 | | Delegate to the Texas State Republican Convention; in addition, he |
---|
17 | 18 | | was a member of the state party's Convention Rules Committee in |
---|
18 | 19 | | 2012, and he was an Alternate Texas Delegate to the Republican |
---|
19 | 20 | | National Convention; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Flint was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and |
---|
21 | 22 | | graduated from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts |
---|
22 | 23 | | Institute of Technology; in 1974, he completed his MBA at Wake |
---|
23 | 24 | | Forest University and relocated to Texas, and he subsequently |
---|
24 | 25 | | earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University; his |
---|
25 | 26 | | practice with the Flint Firm encompasses business and contract law, |
---|
26 | 27 | | mediation, and complex litigation, among other areas of expertise, |
---|
27 | 28 | | and his professional affiliations include the Association of |
---|
28 | 29 | | Attorney-Mediators, the American Health Lawyers Association, the |
---|
29 | 30 | | Christian Legal Society, and the Collin County Bar Association; and |

30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Flint is a |
---|
31 | 32 | | member of Christ Church Plano, and he has provided pro bono legal |
---|
32 | 33 | | services to religious institutions and nonprofit organizations; he |
---|
33 | 34 | | serves as director of Real Options for Women and as a volunteer |
---|
34 | 35 | | arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas; |

36 | 37 | | WHEREAS, George Flint has set an outstanding example of civic |

37 | 38 | | leadership, and the members of the Collin County Republican Party |

38 | 39 | | are fortunate indeed to have the benefit of his knowledge and |

40 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
