| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Smith holds master's degrees in nursing, |

| 10 | 11 | | psychology, and education and has excelled variously as a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | registered nurse, a psychiatric and chemical dependency clinician, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and a health sciences professor; following her retirement from San |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California, she established her |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | own business as a consultant on workplace professionalism and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leadership; active in the Stockton community, she has served on the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | city's planning commission and on many area boards, including that |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of St. Joseph's Behavioral Health Center; she further dedicates her |

| 18 | 19 | | time to Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated, and she is a lifetime |

| 19 | 20 | | member of the NAACP and the Girl Scouts of America; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Since 1973, Ms. Smith has proudly supported the |

| 21 | 22 | | mission of The Links, and she previously served as vice president |

| 22 | 23 | | and president of the organization's Stockton chapter; in addition |

| 23 | 24 | | to overseeing a variety of committees and projects at both the area |

|---|
