| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Kerr County is graduating its 30th class |

| 6 | 7 | | in 2015, and this milestone provides a welcome opportunity to honor |

| 7 | 8 | | this outstanding program; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1985 as a joint initiative |

| 9 | 10 | | between the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce and Schreiner |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | University, Leadership Kerr County has excelled in its efforts to |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | help citizens gain the knowledge and experience they need to better |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | guide the development of their communities; participants complete a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | nine-month course of study that provides them with valuable |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | information about a range of vital public issues, including |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | economic development, government, social services, and health |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | care; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The program inspires its students to become active |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | in local affairs and offers them leadership training, networking |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | opportunities, and instruction from influential figures in the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | public and private sectors; over the past 30 years, more than 500 |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | people have taken part in this worthwhile endeavor, including |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | numerous past and present community leaders; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The 2015 class of Leadership Kerr County includes |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry, |
