45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Leadership Kerr County is graduating its 30th class
67 in 2015, and this milestone provides a welcome opportunity to honor
78 this outstanding program; and
89 WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1985 as a joint initiative
910 between the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce and Schreiner
1011 University, Leadership Kerr County has excelled in its efforts to
1112 help citizens gain the knowledge and experience they need to better
1213 guide the development of their communities; participants complete a
1314 nine-month course of study that provides them with valuable
1415 information about a range of vital public issues, including
1516 economic development, government, social services, and health
1617 care; and
1718 WHEREAS, The program inspires its students to become active
1819 in local affairs and offers them leadership training, networking
1920 opportunities, and instruction from influential figures in the
2021 public and private sectors; over the past 30 years, more than 500
2122 people have taken part in this worthwhile endeavor, including
2223 numerous past and present community leaders; and
2324 WHEREAS, The 2015 class of Leadership Kerr County includes
2425 David Brannom, Larry Cantu, Rene Curtis, Justin Foster, Mindi
2526 Franklin, Bridgit Giedeman, Donna Harris, Waverly Jones, Blake
2627 Laird, Jane Lehman, James Maberry, Toni Manchester, Susan
2728 Michelson, Stephanie Miller, Anthony Parinello, Timothy Rye, Chad
2829 Simpson, Jeri Skrumeda, J. David Samuel, Quincy Smith, and Tracy
2930 Soldan; and
3031 WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry,
3132 Leadership Kerr County is helping to build a brighter and more
3233 promising future for the Lone Star State, and all those associated
3334 with the program may take justifiable pride in their achievements;
3435 now, therefore, be it
3536 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
3637 Legislature hereby honor Leadership Kerr County and welcome its
3738 members to the State Capitol; and, be it further
3839 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3940 prepared for Leadership Kerr County as an expression of high regard
4041 by the Texas House of Representatives.
