| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hailey of the Lake Highlands area of Dallas |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A Writer's Garden is a literary series organized by |

| 9 | 10 | | the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden to |

| 10 | 11 | | raise funds for A Woman's Garden, a major feature of the arboretum; |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | designer, gardener, and author Michael Devine was the guest speaker |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | at this year's event; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Hailey is a former Neiman Marcus model, and her |

| 14 | 15 | | hat collection was on display at the gathering; many of the hats |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | were designed by her friend, renowned hat designer Frank Olive; the |

| 16 | 17 | | Women's Council paid tribute to Ms. Hailey in her role as honorary |

| 17 | 18 | | chair with a video showing photographs of her modeling career, |

| 18 | 19 | | which began in the early 1960s; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hailey is a valued resident of Lake |

| 20 | 21 | | Highlands, and through her personal and professional |

| 21 | 22 | | accomplishments, she has earned the respect and admiration of her |

| 22 | 23 | | fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Marilyn Hailey on being named the |

| 25 | 26 | | honorary chair of A Writer's Garden Valentine Tea 2015 and extend to |

| 26 | 27 | | her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
