| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Grand Prairie lost an admired civic |

| 6 | 7 | | leader with the passing of Harry Englert on February 13, 2015; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1930, Mr. Englert |

| 8 | 9 | | earned an engineering degree from Vanderbilt University and a |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | master's degree from Southern Methodist University; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Englert's career as an engineer spanned more |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | than four decades, and he worked at LTV, General Dynamics, and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Lockheed Martin; he also notably served as a lead project engineer |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | on Boeing's 747 passenger aircraft; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his professional accomplishments, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Mr. Englert was elected to the Grand Prairie City Council and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | served as mayor pro tem; he further contributed to his community |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | through his work with local charities, and he was a valued member of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie for 60 years; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, An enthusiastic traveler, Mr. Englert met the love |

| 20 | 21 | | of his life, the former Judy DeKoster, while visiting Yellowstone |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | National Park; the couple shared 56 years together before |

| 22 | 23 | | Mrs. Englert's passing in 2010, and they were blessed with three |

| 23 | 24 | | children, Sarah, Ruth, and John; Mr. Englert delighted in traveling |

| 24 | 25 | | with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he journeyed to all |

| 25 | 26 | | 50 states and to many countries around the world; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A devoted family man and an engaged citizen, Harry |

| 27 | 28 | | Englert will be deeply missed, but he leaves behind a record of good |

| 28 | 29 | | works that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, |
