5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Patty Collier received a 2015 Teaching |

6 | 7 | | Excellence Award from Austin Community College; and |

7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Austin Community College recognizes |

8 | 9 | | faculty members whose knowledge, innovation, and teaching |
---|
9 | 10 | | philosophy set them apart; and |

10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, An associate professor at ACC, Dr. Collier helps |
---|
11 | 12 | | coordinate the school's Physical Therapist Assistant Program; she |
---|
12 | 13 | | teaches courses in pathophysiology, neuroscience, management of |
---|
13 | 14 | | neurological disorders, therapeutic exercise, professional issues, |
---|
14 | 15 | | wound care, and clinical education; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Collier was inspired to become an educator |
---|
16 | 17 | | during her work as a clinician at local hospitals, where she helped |
---|
17 | 18 | | physical therapy students complete their field training; she joined |
---|
18 | 19 | | the staff at ACC in an adjunct capacity in 2007, and she became a |
---|
19 | 20 | | full-time instructor in 2013; moreover, she also finds the time to |
---|
20 | 21 | | serve patients at Seton Medical Center as a practicing physical |
---|
21 | 22 | | therapist; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to her profession, Dr. Collier is helping |
---|
23 | 24 | | her students reach their full potential both in and out of the |
---|
24 | 25 | | classroom, and she is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; |

26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Patty Collier on her receipt of |
