5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of Girl Scout Troop 35 of Greater South |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to building character and developing |

9 | 10 | | confident, socially aware young women, the Girl Scout program of |

10 | 11 | | Greater South Texas is helping participants to discover how they |

11 | 12 | | can further the Girl Scout mission of making the world a better |
---|
12 | 13 | | place; and |

13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Representing the McAllen, Mission, and Edinburg |

14 | 15 | | school districts, members of Girl Scout Troop 35 have performed |
---|
15 | 16 | | extensive community service; among the many organizations to have |

16 | 17 | | benefited from their efforts have been the Edinburg Children's |
---|
17 | 18 | | Hospital, where they sang carols during the holidays and |
---|
18 | 19 | | handcrafted puzzle books for pediatric patients, the Retama Nursing |

19 | 20 | | Home, where they made Christmas ornaments for residents, and the |
---|
20 | 21 | | Palm Valley Animal Shelter, where they walked and played with the |
---|
21 | 22 | | animals, cleaned kennels, and donated newspapers to line cages; the |
---|
22 | 23 | | scouts have also sent letters to soldiers, organized food drives, |
---|
23 | 24 | | and provided meals to families in need, as well as donated relief |
---|
24 | 25 | | items to victims of Hurricane Katrina and the tornado outbreak in |

25 | 26 | | Kokomo, Indiana; and |

26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Members of Troop 35 include Ambassadors Kassandra |
