| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Danashiya Pritchard, an eighth grade student at |

| 8 | 9 | | enthusiastic volunteer efforts; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, At age six, while receiving treatment for |

| 10 | 11 | | sickle-cell anemia, Danashiya became involved in Project Arts in |

| 11 | 12 | | Motion, an initiative sponsored by the nonprofit organization |

| 12 | 13 | | Creative Kids to introduce pediatric patients in El Paso to the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | visual arts; over the years, she has grown to be a valued member of |

| 14 | 15 | | the program, and when Project AIM was recognized with the National |

| 15 | 16 | | Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award in 2013, she was chosen to |

| 16 | 17 | | speak at the White House alongside First Lady Michelle Obama; in |

| 17 | 18 | | addition, one of her paintings, The Vase of Flowers, was displayed |

| 18 | 19 | | in the East Room during the ceremony; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This remarkable young Texan has continued to play an |

| 20 | 21 | | active role in her community; she served as a marshal for the El |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Paso Black History Parade in February 2014 and that same year |

| 22 | 23 | | appeared as a guest speaker at the third annual Three Wish Circus; |

| 23 | 24 | | she also donated an original piece of artwork to the event's live |

| 24 | 25 | | auction, helping Three Wish Circus to raise more than $175,000 for |

| 25 | 26 | | the El Paso Regional Office of Make-A-Wish North Texas; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A talented artist with a generous spirit, Danashiya |

| 27 | 28 | | Pritchard is making a positive difference in the city she calls |

| 28 | 29 | | home, and she is a source of inspiration to all who know her; now, |
