| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Brittany L. Lightfoot of Onalaska has been chosen to |

| 6 | 7 | | receive a 2015 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This notable young Texan, who will graduate this |

| 8 | 9 | | spring and attend college in the fall, was recognized for her |

| 9 | 10 | | achievements at a special banquet in Austin on March 2, 2015; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established |

| 11 | 12 | | in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | exceptional high school students from across the state; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Lightfoot has |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | demonstrated determination and perseverance in the pursuit of her |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | goals, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright with |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | promise; now, therefore, be it |

| 18 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 19 | 20 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Brittany L. Lightfoot on her |
