R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Deontra Morgan of Kountze has been chosen to receive
a 2015 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and
WHEREAS, This notable young Texan, who will graduate this
spring and attend college in the fall, was recognized for his
achievements at a special banquet in Austin on March 2, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established
in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American
community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to
exceptional high school students from across the state; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Mr. Morgan has
demonstrated determination and perseverance in the pursuit of his
goals, and he may indeed look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Deontra Morgan on his receipt of a
Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Morgan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
