| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in |

| 6 | 7 | | Greenville are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their church's |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Services were initially held at Travis Elementary |

| 9 | 10 | | School when the church was organized in March of 1965, and then two |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | years later, they were moved to the current church home at the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | corner of Wesley and Burnett; an activities building and an |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | education building have been added, and in 1987 a new worship center |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | was dedicated; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Ridgecrest Baptist has benefited |

| 15 | 16 | | from the dedicated efforts of seven outstanding clergymen, |

| 16 | 17 | | Dr. William Pratt, Dr. James McGinlay, Dr. Bob Hamilton, Dr. David |

| 17 | 18 | | Stubblefield, Dr. Sam Douglass, Kevin Herbert, and Pastor Matthew |

| 18 | 19 | | Beasley, who leads the congregation today; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, United by their shared faith and strong traditions, |

| 20 | 21 | | the members of this notable house of worship have established a |

| 21 | 22 | | variety of commendable programs that foster fellowship and offer |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | help to those in need; one such special ministry is the live |

| 23 | 24 | | nativity presented to the community for the past 48 Christmas |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Countless Greenville residents have looked to |

| 26 | 27 | | Ridgecrest Baptist for spiritual guidance over the years, and it is |

| 27 | 28 | | a pleasure to join in honoring the church at this special time in |

| 28 | 29 | | its rich history; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
