R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Kirbyville Youth Football Association Smoke in
the Park Cook-Off is taking place on August 14 and 15, 2015; and
WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
championship event, the cook-off features an outstanding lineup of
highly skilled pit masters going head-to-head to determine who can
create the tastiest barbecue in several different categories;
attendees enjoy a family-oriented atmosphere along with live music,
great food, and spirited competition; and
WHEREAS, The KYFA Smoke in the Park Cook-Off is being held at
Magnolia Park and is presented by the City of Kirbyville and the
Kirbyville Chamber of Commerce; the celebration serves as the main
fund-raiser for the KYFA, and it will help the organization
purchase safety and training equipment for local children involved
in its programs; and
WHEREAS, A fun-filled event for people of all ages, the KYFA
Smoke in the Park Cook-Off is a popular celebration of Texas-style
food that is all the more special for the assistance it provides to
young athletes; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the KYFA Smoke in the Park Cook-Off
and extend sincere best wishes to the event's organizers, sponsors,
and participants for an enjoyable and rewarding experience; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
