| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Everardo Morin Torres of Hondo, who passed away on January 18, |

| 7 | 8 | | 2015, at the age of 83; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on September 22, 1931, Everardo Torres, |

| 9 | 10 | | affectionately known as "Everett," was the son of Estanislado L. |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | and Eulogia Morin Torres; he served with the United States Air Force |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and saw duty during the Korean War as a radio operator with the 13th |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Communications Squadron of the Far East Air Forces at the U.S. Naval |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Station in Seattle; Mr. Torres held the rank of airman second class |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | and earned several honors, including the Good Conduct Medal, the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | U.N. Service Medal; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In civilian life, Mr. Torres worked as a carpenter; |

| 18 | 19 | | he liked to go fishing, and he was active in his community and in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Aguinaldo Pruneda Post No. 524 of the American Legion; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The father of seven children, Everardo, Everett, |

| 21 | 22 | | Karim, Joel, Nuri, Stacy, and the late Lisa Torres, Mr. Torres |

| 22 | 23 | | enjoyed spending time with his family, which grew to include 15 |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Everardo Morin Torres enjoyed a life that was rich |

| 25 | 26 | | in the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all |

| 26 | 27 | | those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
