 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Section 27, Article I, Texas Constitution, states
 "The citizens shall have the right, in a peaceable manner,
 to . . . apply to those invested with the powers of government for
 redress of grievances or other purposes, by petition, address or
 remonstrance"; and
 WHEREAS, The members of the Texas House of Representatives
 are committed to the right of the citizens of Texas to apply to
 those invested with the powers of government for redress of
 grievances; and
 WHEREAS, The current e-mail addresses for the members and
 staff of the Texas House of Representatives are long, complex, and
 difficult to relay verbally, making it more difficult for the
 citizens of Texas to contact their elected representatives; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby request the House Committee on Administration to
 make available to the members and staff of the Texas House of
 Representatives e-mail addresses with the top-level domain ".gov"
 and with a domain name substantially similar to "@texashouse.gov";
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That if the committee decides to make such e-mail
 addresses available, the committee decline to use the domain names
 "@house.tx.gov" and "@house.texas.gov"; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That if the committee decides to make such e-mail
 addresses available, such e-mail addresses be made available not
 later than January 1, 2018, and the current e-mail addresses of the
 house be withdrawn from service not later than December 31, 2018.
