| 9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 26.006(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 9 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | (a) A county judge is entitled to an annual salary |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | supplement from the state in an amount equal to 18 percent of the |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | annual compensation provided for a district judge in the General |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | Appropriations Act [of $15,000] if at least 40 percent of the |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | functions that the judge performs are judicial functions. |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
