77 relating to the suspension of an election judge or clerk.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 32, Election Code, is
1010 amended by adding Section 32.0553 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 32.0553. SUSPENSION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR VIOLATION. (a)
1212 The secretary of state shall adopt rules and procedures to allow the
1313 official administering an election to immediately suspend and
1414 replace an election judge or clerk who fails to comply with the
1515 provisions of this code.
1616 (b) The rules and procedures adopted under this section must
1717 include a process for a review and reinstatement of a suspended
1818 election judge's or clerk's eligibility if the election judge or
1919 clerk is not finally convicted of an offense in connection with the
2020 violation.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
