1111 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1212 AN ACT
1313 relating to the amount that may be donated by contract by certain
1414 populous counties to crime stoppers or crime prevention
1515 organizations.
1616 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1717 SECTION 1. Section 351.901(b), Local Government Code, is
1818 amended to read as follows:
1919 (b) The commissioners court of a county by contract may
2020 donate money to one or more crime stoppers or crime prevention
2121 organizations for expenditure by the organizations to meet the
2222 goals identified in Subsection (a). The total amount of all
2323 donations made in a calendar year may not exceed:
2424 (1) $25,000; or
2525 (2) $100,000, for a county with a population of one
2626 million or more.
2727 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2828 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2929 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3030 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3131 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
