| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Sections 5A(a)(4) and (5), Chapter 1507 (S.B. |

| 11 | 11 | | 456), Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article |

| 12 | 12 | | 5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), are amended to read as |

| 14 | 14 | | (4) "Event" means a Super Bowl, a National Collegiate |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Athletic Association Final Four tournament game, the National |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Basketball Association All-Star Game, the X Games, the National |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Hockey League All-Star Game, the Major League Baseball All-Star |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Game, a game of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Bowl |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Championship Series or its successor or a National Collegiate |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Athletic Association Division I Football Bowl Subdivision |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | postseason playoff or championship game, a World Cup Soccer game, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the World Games, a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Finals |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Event, a national collegiate championship of an amateur sport |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | sanctioned by the national governing body of the sport that is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, an Olympic |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | activity, including a Junior or Senior activity, training program, |

| 27 | 27 | | or feeder program sanctioned by the United States Olympic |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Committee's Community Olympic Development Program, a mixed martial |

| 29 | 29 | | arts championship, the Breeders' Cup World Championships, a Formula |

| 30 | 30 | | One automobile race, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the |

| 31 | 31 | | National Cutting Horse Association Triple Crown, a national |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | political convention of the Republican National Committee or the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Democratic National Committee, or the largest event held each year |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | at a sports entertainment venue in this state with a permanent |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | seating capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of not |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | less than 125,000. The term includes any activities related to or |

| 37 | 37 | | associated with an event. |

| 38 | 38 | | (5) "Site selection organization" means: |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | (A) the National Football League, the National |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Basketball |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | Association, the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, the |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | International World Games Association, the Professional Rodeo |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | Cowboys Association, or the United States Olympic Committee; |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | (B) the national governing body of a sport that |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, the National |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | Thoroughbred Racing Association, Formula One Management Limited, |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | or the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile; |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | (C) the Academy of Country Music; |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | (D) the National Cutting Horse Association; or |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | (E) the Republican National Committee or the |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | Democratic National Committee. |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 54 | 54 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 55 | 55 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 57 | 57 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
