105 AN ACT
116 relating to a study of the feasibility and benefits to this state of
127 abolishing the property tax assistance division of the office of
138 the comptroller of public accounts and transferring its powers and
149 duties to an independent agency.
1510 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1611 SECTION 1. (a) The Sunset Advisory Commission shall
1712 conduct a study of the feasibility and benefits to this state of
1813 abolishing the property tax assistance division of the office of
1914 the comptroller of public accounts and transferring its powers and
2015 duties to an independent agency.
2116 (b) Not later than September 1, 2016, the commission shall
2217 provide a report on the results of the study to the governor, the
2318 lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of representatives,
2419 and the appropriate standing committees of the senate and the house
2520 of representatives.
2621 (c) This section expires September 1, 2017.
2722 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2823 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2924 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3025 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3126 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
