| 8 | 6 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 7 | SECTION 1. Section 462.202, Insurance Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 8 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 9 | (c) A person has a covered claim under this chapter if the | |
| 12 | 10 | person holds a valid assignment of a covered claim for unearned | |
| 13 | 11 | premiums under Subsections (a) and (b). | |
| 14 | 12 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 15 | 13 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 16 | 14 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 17 | 15 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 18 | 16 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | |
