9 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 8 | SECTION 1. Chapter 266, Family Code, is amended by adding | |
11 | 9 | Section 266.012 to read as follows: | |
12 | 10 | Sec. 266.012. COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENTS. (a) Not later | |
13 | 11 | than the 45th day after the date a child enters the conservatorship | |
14 | 12 | of the department, the child shall receive a developmentally | |
15 | 13 | appropriate comprehensive assessment. The assessment must | |
16 | 14 | include: | |
17 | 15 | (1) a screening for trauma; and | |
18 | 16 | (2) interviews with individuals who have knowledge of | |
19 | 17 | the child's needs. | |
20 | 18 | (b) The department shall develop guidelines regarding the | |
21 | 19 | contents of an assessment report. | |
22 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | |
