7	5		relating to the definition of medical schools for medical residency
8	6		programs.
9	7		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10	8		SECTION 1. Section 61.501(1), Education Code, is amended to
11	9		read as follows:
12	10		(1) "Medical school" means the medical school at The
13	11		University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, the medical
14	12		school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical [Health
15	13		Science] Center [at Dallas], the medical school at The University
16	14		of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, The University of
17	15		Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, the medical school at The
18	16		University of Texas at Austin, the medical school at The University
19	17		of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the medical education program of The
20	18		University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, the medical
21	19		school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the
22	20		medical school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
23	21		at El Paso, the Baylor College of Medicine, the college of
24	22		osteopathic medicine at the University of North Texas Health
25	23		Science Center at Fort Worth, or the medical school at the Texas A&M
26	24		University Health Science Center [Medical Program].
27	25		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
28	26		a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
29	27		provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
30	28		Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
31	29		Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
