                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 9, 2015      TO: Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1467 by Watson (Relating to authorizing the collection of a service charge on certain electronic toll collection customer account payments.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person that enters into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide electronic toll collection customer account payment services at a location other than a TxDOT office to collect an additional service charge. The bill would require the Texas Transportation Commission by rule to set the maximum amount a person may collect as a service charge, which could not exceed $3 for a payment transaction.Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
