The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize a person that enters into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide electronic toll collection customer account payment services at a location other than a TxDOT office to collect an additional service charge. The bill would require the Texas Transportation Commission by rule to set the maximum amount a person may collect as a service charge, which could not exceed $3 for a payment transaction.Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
