10 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
---|
11 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 6.41(i), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
---|
12 | 10 | | follows: |
---|
13 | 11 | | (i) This subsection applies only to an appraisal district |
---|
14 | 12 | | described by Subsection (d-1). A chief appraiser or another |
---|
15 | 13 | | employee or agent of the appraisal district, a member of the |
---|
16 | 14 | | appraisal review board for the appraisal district, a member of the |
---|
17 | 15 | | board of directors of the appraisal district, a property tax |
---|
18 | 16 | | consultant, or an agent of a property owner commits an offense if |
---|
19 | 17 | | the person communicates with the local administrative district |
---|
20 | 18 | | judge regarding the appointment of appraisal review board members. |
---|
21 | 19 | | This subsection does not apply to: |
---|
22 | 20 | | (1) a communication between a member of the appraisal |
---|
23 | 21 | | review board and the local administrative district judge regarding |
---|
24 | 22 | | the member's reappointment to the board; |
---|
25 | 23 | | (2) a communication between the taxpayer liaison |
---|
26 | 24 | | officer for the appraisal district and the local administrative |
---|
27 | 25 | | district judge in the course of the performance of the officer's |
---|
28 | 26 | | clerical duties so long as the officer does not offer an opinion or |
---|
29 | 27 | | comment regarding the appointment of appraisal review board |
---|
30 | 28 | | members; [or] |
---|
31 | 29 | | (3) a communication between a chief appraiser or |
---|
32 | 30 | | another employee or agent of the appraisal district, a member of the |
---|
33 | 31 | | appraisal review board for the appraisal district, or a member of |
---|
34 | 32 | | the board of directors of the appraisal district and the local |
---|
35 | 33 | | administrative district judge regarding information relating to or |
---|
36 | 34 | | described by Subsection (d-1), (d-5), or (f) of this section or |
---|
37 | 35 | | Section 411.1296, Government Code; or |
---|
38 | 36 | | (4) a communication between a property tax consultant |
---|
39 | 37 | | or a property owner or an agent of the property owner and the |
---|
40 | 38 | | taxpayer liaison officer for the appraisal district regarding |
---|
41 | 39 | | information relating to or described by Subsection (f). The |
---|
42 | 40 | | taxpayer liaison officer for the appraisal district shall report |
---|
43 | 41 | | the contents of the communication relating to or described by |
---|
44 | 42 | | Subsection (f) to the local administrative district judge. |
---|
45 | 43 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
