9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 614.013, Health and Safety Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (b-1) The methods established under Subsection (b): | |
13 | 13 | (1) must ensure that each offender with a mental | |
14 | 14 | impairment is identified and qualified for the continuity of care | |
15 | 15 | and service program regardless of diagnosis; and | |
16 | 16 | (2) may not restrict access to the continuity of care | |
17 | 17 | and service program or services to those offenders who have been | |
18 | 18 | diagnosed with specific mental disorders. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
