55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the continuity of care and service program for
88 offenders with mental impairments.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 614.013, Health and Safety Code, is
1111 amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
1212 (b-1) The methods established under Subsection (b):
1313 (1) must ensure that each offender with a mental
1414 impairment is identified and qualified for the continuity of care
1515 and service program regardless of diagnosis; and
1616 (2) may not restrict access to the continuity of care
1717 and service program or services to those offenders who have been
1818 diagnosed with specific mental disorders.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
