| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 143.073, Local Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by amending Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (f) to | |
| 12 | 12 | read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (e) After recovery from a temporary disability, a fire | |
| 14 | 14 | fighter or police officer shall be reinstated at the same rank and | |
| 15 | 15 | with the same seniority the person had before going on temporary | |
| 16 | 16 | leave. | |
| 17 | 17 | (f) Another fire fighter or police officer may voluntarily | |
| 18 | 18 | do the work of a [an injured] fire fighter or police officer who is | |
| 19 | 19 | on leave under this section until the person returns to duty. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
