| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 531.0058 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 531.0058. ASSOCIATE COMMISSIONER FOR VETERANS |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | SERVICES. The executive commissioner shall appoint for the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | commission an associate commissioner for veterans services to: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) review programs and benefits available for |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | veterans; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) make recommendations on the improvement and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | coordination of veterans services; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (3) coordinate with other state agencies to enhance |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | veterans services. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
