9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 408.025, Labor Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a-1) A report that is required to be filed with the | |
13 | 13 | division or provided to the injured employee, the employee's | |
14 | 14 | attorney, or the insurance carrier by a treating physician may be | |
15 | 15 | completed and signed by a physician assistant who is licensed to | |
16 | 16 | practice in this state under Chapter 204, Occupations Code, and is | |
17 | 17 | acting as the agent of a licensed physician under Section | |
18 | 18 | 204.202(e) of that code. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
